Data integration: your data where it needs to be, automatically

Data integration pulls data out of your systems, transforms it and loads it where it is needed. No more exports, no copy-paste into Excel, and figures you can trust every morning.

What is data integration?

Bringing data from different systems together, so it is the same everywhere and fits in one overview. Orders from the webshop, stock from the WMS and revenue from accounting are fetched, checked and passed on automatically, without anyone making an export.

Without data integration

Every Monday someone exports three files, pastes them into Excel and fixes the columns that do not line up. By the time the report is done, the figures are a week old.

With data integration

A pipeline fetches the data itself, checks it and puts it where it belongs, every night or every quarter of an hour. The overview is ready before you start work.

Sync, migrate, report

Four situations where data integration saves the most time and the most errors.

  1. Syncing data between systems

Customers, products and stock that live in several packages stay identical everywhere. One system is the source; the rest follow automatically.
  2. Data migration when you switch

From an old package to a new one, or from Excel to a proper database. We clean up, convert and count whether every record arrived, so you start day one with complete data.
  3. Reports that fill themselves

Figures from accounting, webshop and warehouse in one overview, updated every day. The dashboard itself we build as an internal tool.
  4. Files from suppliers and customers

Price lists, stock files and orders that arrive as CSV, Excel or XML are read in and checked automatically before they enter your system.

The ETL pipeline in plain English

  1. Extract

From APIs, databases, folders and email attachments.
  2. Transform

Clean, combine and check for errors and duplicates.
  3. Load

Into the system or dashboard where the data is needed.

Exports, a BI tool or a data pipeline?

Not every data problem needs custom work. This is how to choose the route that fits.

  1. Manual exports

Fine for a quarterly report. A risk when it happens every week, when only one colleague knows how, or when a wrong paste ends up in the figures unnoticed.
  2. A BI tool or integration platform

Power BI or an integration platform reads many sources out of the box. It pinches when data must be cleaned or combined first, or needs to go back into another system.
  3. A custom data pipeline

Fits when the data has to be right every day and moves back and forth between systems. The checks and exceptions match how your business actually works.

What you get

A pipeline is only done when you still trust it blindly a year from now.

  1. A pipeline that runs on its own

On a schedule, or as soon as something changes.
  2. Checks on every run

Missing, duplicate or unusual records are held back and reported.
  3. A log per run

You see what was extracted and loaded.
  1. Documentation per data flow

Which source, which transformation, which destination.
  2. The source code is yours

No vendor lock-in; any developer can take over.
  3. Direct contact with the developer

    No account manager in between.

How we build your data integration

Four steps, from the first inventory to a pipeline that runs on its own.

Which data, from where

We look at the sources, who processes the data today and where it goes wrong. You hear from us within one business day.

Questions about data integration

Say a wholesaler receives price lists from twenty suppliers, each in its own format. Instead of someone reworking them in Excel every week, a pipeline picks up each file, converts it to one format, checks for odd prices and updates the webshop and ERP. The same idea applies to nightly stock syncs or a sales report that builds itself.

An API integration connects two systems so they exchange data directly, usually per order or per change. Data integration is broader: pulling data from several sources, cleaning, combining and loading it, often in batches and also when a source has no API. In practice we often use both.

It depends on the number of sources, the quality of the data, how often it must be refreshed and how much cleaning is needed. Two tidy sources merged every night is straightforward; ten sources with different formats takes more. After a first conversation you get an estimate for your situation.

We only extract the fields that are actually needed, data travels encrypted and access is limited to those who need it. Where we process personal data on your behalf, we record that in a data processing agreement.

Every run checks the data before it is loaded. A record that fails is set aside and reported instead of silently overwriting something, so you see the problem before it reaches your books.

You do. The data stays in your own systems, and you get the source code and documentation of the pipeline, so you are not tied to us.
